College Drag
Race
Teacher
Discussion
Mid -sem
Faculty
Words Love
Its a little dark here,
and its a little dark everywhere.
Its just you and I around.
and there is something for you.
I want to make words just for you.
Offer you words,
words which would, spread you on the bed,
words which would, run up your thighs,
words which would run down your neck,
and trigger a chill through your spine.
Words which would arch your back like a bridge,
and let the emotions engulf you, drape you,
Words which would bring all your emotions, to your mouth,
transform them into words, fill your cheeks, swell your cheeks,
but your lips shall not part, and they shall not be heard.
Words which would fill your eyes,
roll a tear down,
which would run down your cheeks,
and find salvation on your lips.
If those words could love you,
love you like no man could.

Zindagi..

Unsaid.
Some are spoken, spoken aloud,
Some are not.....But they are,
They remain..somewhere..latent.
These are not those words,
which come out 'naturally'.
They are like strong gush of water,
forcing away through the glass,
on a dark stormy night.
which flickers, it shivers, like a snake on glass.
It might, just as well speak, but not to be heard.
These words do not comprise of large and categorized
sweeping generalizations and observations ,
but of those little things which push hard,
to get through those split ribs,
with the desire to be expressed.
These words lie buried in fissures of the key hole, when one can't get that thing going,
They come with the smile on one's face when thinking of an ugly, coarse thought,
They are found on the little scribblings, in class, during a lecture,
They are found in those sigh of reliefs, when reached office on time,
They are the same when one doesn't reaches office on time,
They are ones's company in snarling traffic,
They are the words, at times,
When all one wants to say is those words,
And all you say, is but them,
They live through you,
But die on our lips,
They are those silent explosions,
They surface when one blinks and winks,
They are those unpleasant curses,
They are those silent prayers,
They are the moments of grief,
They are the bright flashes,
They are the dark skies.
They are just those little things,
They ensure that there is light in our own skies.

Khali, Bechain shabd..

May be..

The coloured divide.
To some I am beautiful,
Some just like me,
for some, its a mere utility,
and for some, it just doesn't matter.
But conclusively, its just their perception..
which they unassumingly, try to align with my existence.
I, hinged, to a support...(every-one has one)
unfurl myself..cascade down..express myself.
I have two worlds on my either sides,
I am the divide..
I have my hues..
I have my shades..
I have my ripples,
I have my riddles,
I reflect,
I deflect,
and I absorb.
I can hide,
I can show,
I can guide,
I can obstruct.
With air I can create magic..
I can swell, I can swirl..
I can hide you..
You can hold me..
I can, just be touched..!!
I be unfurled or roped...
I'll be there, till I be replaced,
with just another Curtain..!!

Yes Please...!!
Yes, is important.
For us and for our lives.
On first thoughts,
One could imagine, that one's life, is pretty much determined by the Yes'es one has earned, and for all practical purposes, Yes'es are more celebrated and cherished.
So, with this pretext, when I look back, in life, and the farthest I could see, is I pleading my mother to buy me the "police-like-dress", which if bought, would have defied the very logic of buying dresses, notwithstanding the strength of my desire to posses it.Of course, it was a No, and an emphatic one !
Next, was my proposition of buying me a bicycle, supposedly, to commute to school, but the geographical proximity of my home to the school, facilitated another heart-breaking No.
And, yes, all these No's were adequately substantiated with logic and reason.
And today, I can't help but attribute it all to my current thought process and general reasoning, thankfully.
Seemingly, the whole journey has been fraught with No's, may be that would explain the celebration of Yes'es.
:- There were No's for Dairymilks, Parley-G's, Cornetto's, GIGO's, Mario, Super- Commando Dhruv's and Nagraaj's, the He-Man, Ducktails, Uncle Scrooz, and even Shaktimaan wasn't spared. I have also had No's for movies, cricket, (playing or watching).
:-Then there were weird No's to visit the roof or even the balcony, I sure could never reason them out.
Its funny, there was a time, when I knew, I had a 'No' coming up, but I, still... would not hesitate in exercising my right to express...:)
:-Then there was a crystal clear No' for the "The Guitar". ( I was in my teen when DDLJ happened.)
:-A similar No, for a bike. ( I wasn't too old when DHOOM happened.)
:-Spoken No's for friends and birthday parties.
:-Unspoken No's, when I used to hover around the central table in the "drawing-room" and guests being served all kinds of delicacies.
:-I have had loud No's, standing beside an asleep friend, with a bucket of water.
:-The quiet No's were many in number, post exams..!!, short lived, though.
:-Well mannered and diplomatic No's after interviews.
:-The "self-served" No's, courtesy, one's principles, morals or fears, may be..!
They were always around.
They are the milestones, they are the grooves, which probably shape one's life,
and on them depends the final hue.
Today as I look back, I can't imagine myself without them.
I am, in hundred gathered sense of the word, grateful to them.
No, Thank you...!!

You...!!
I was walking fast,
Yes, I had missed my break-fast,
Sure something was on my mind,
May be the situation wasn't too kind,
While walking, everything in view was scanned,
I really wished why wasn't all that canned.
Suddenly something my eye caught,
It was as beautiful as a thought.
Everything about it was near perfect,
And neither did I had an eye for any defect,
It was all beautifully woven,
I could tell the touch would have been silken,
The important Diary in my hand,
Took no time to reach the ground,
Embarrassed, I looked down, for a while,
It was then she chose to smile.
Though I missed that,
May be I was timed to miss that,
But what I caught ,
was more important than that.
I did noticed her unfinished smile,
It was sure an opportunity to beguile.
Though she got me flustered...
And with all the courage I could muster..
All I chose to do was smile shyly...
She too couldn't keep herself from it, eventually.
And yes, it was this short and sweet..!!

She
Some-one can bear the pain equivalent to breaking 20 bones in a body,
and end it with a smile of genuine happiness.
For long, it wasn't quantified as such,
and all we knew was, that it pains a lot.....
well, that much...unimaginable..!!
That's when we are born.
And guess, what...half of human population, almost, does that.
Somebody with that much power and courage,
choose to maintain such a "low-profile", is a little hard to reason.
They are or may be they are made vulnerable or probably we are simply basking in the illusion of dominance over them.
And they too have no qualms about it, or perhaps they have allowed us to remain in such illusion so as to reduce the "noise" from the system.
It is them who told us what is beauty,
It is them who who taught us duty.
From them we learned, almost everything,
To them we owe, almost everything.

That Thread....
My thread...
It was a contract of trust, with more than you..
And you too were more, than you are.
Yes distances were there.
I place the golden thread around my wrist, that done !
struggle with my left hand to put it on..
with eyes riveted on it, as if trying to read..
I always thought;
You should have done that;
I too have lost the rite..
and the future numerals look curious..
And I too don't know, how strange would it be..
when next we meet each other.
How we must have changed;
only the custom stays,
educing from the past,
the undying days,
and my full-sleeved shirt..remains.

Gravity Pulls....!
Our Weight...
There are people : who are apparently attached, relatively, more to the ground while other are not so much.
There are times : when one feels rather light, upbeat and up in the air and also when one feels heavy, as is the heart and so are the feet.
Every time one does an act justifying all the rationalities, an act which has helped one earn some real satisfaction, it adds more value and weight to one's self and one becomes more attached to the ground.
In due course of time, test and life, different forces try to sweep you off your feet, depending upon ones "weight" and one's will, one gets displaced or not. As in a normal gathered sense this displacement isn't just change in a situation or circumstance but it does has two effects, one, one looses some value earned (read weight) and two, one gets pushed a little behind the line, where one originally was.
Its all a part of the game which we and life play with each other.
Which side of the line we are, depends only on us.

Who you..?
I don't get it...
How come you got it...
It ain't that simple anymore..
As much it used to be before..
I thought it was pretty simple...
you could take things in ample...
Anything, even if it is most direct...
To my surprise lays around you in a state of dissect...
I wonder who armed you such...?
Or were you not careful much...?
Surprise me, if that actually was your wish...
and if you thought it will give you some push...
I would rather keep it all to myself...
and let the sheet of time spread itself...
But sometime, may be later I will dig this, with you...
I shall watch, how then, you appreciate the unearthed hue...
But don't tell me, whether you like it or not...
As, almost non-apologetically, I might appreciate it not...
It didn't matter then.
It wouldn't matter ever.

I See You.
I see you and,
I see a war...
I see the war you are at...
I see you claiming wounds and misery...
and then I pause and re-think,
did I really see you...?
or did I see the real you...?
I see your weapons of anxiety and eagerness...
with which you want to inflict the pain you bear...
or should I say the pain you wish to share.
I choose not to engage...
that does sets you ablaze...
how much I wish to bring you some peace...
but its your forgiveness, all that I seek...
Few steps further, I again paused and re-thought...
Was it the same thing about me, what you thought...!
Well...may be...or...may be not.

Lets Fall.
Up here it is pretty lonely...all we wait is for our release and the great decent.
And when it begins everyone welcomes us with open arms, and we too can’t hide our joy, we glow...
Pretty short lived we are, but the pleasure we obtain and deliver, beats everything.
Our ends are equally varied in nature; there are just about no limits to the possibilities.
We add color to the world, we light up faces with a reason to smile and what can beat the manifestation of one’s prayer being answered. We live and die. But what we infuse is life in its most beautiful version.
And in our haste to reach our destination we just don't miss to enjoy the pleasure of the journey. We Live. We are pampered by the breeze, we are greeted by the sun or the moon for that matter, while everything else waits ...
Up here when we are about to decent, people might just say, "it might rain today".
And there we go...not knowing where we might end...we just glide…to glory.
Mountains are like waiting for us to blanket them, they are humble, they don't say much....just stand there, firm, unperturbed, like fathers....it’s when we touch them, then we get to know how they feel.
Seas and rivers are more forgiving, like mothers and sisters, where every drop is acknowledged and absorbed, like every child is seen and heard, it’s like a chuckle when the divine meet happens. On the water surface, it’s like a party going on, so many figures, so many shapes, often like crowns, it’s pretty noisy there, much like a reunion.
Trees and vegetation are our siblings, it’s like they raise their face up to hug us, and with all our pleasure, we are all over them, we cuddle up, we caress them and shower our love while we run through them.....just watch a tree after it has rained .... It’s beaming with joy.
It's all fine till here, but a little different when we encounter humans, as of late they have augmented adjectives like emotion, fake, hypocrisy: honestly it isn’t that real these days, but for children.
They make us proud when they greet us with open mouth and bright faces, wide open palms and closed eyes. Those innocent souls appreciate us in the true sense of the word, and we too are more than keen to oblige them.
And before it all ends we do leave a lesson for all, be it a drop which was absorbed in a pond or a drop which glittered like a diamond on a leaf, it was a drop in the beginning and remains a drop till the end : it is ironical that people chose to learn the converse….pun intended.

A day in the life of Love ..huh..!
Whenever I come to think of Valentine’s Day, every year and ever since, it seems as if it is the most “emotionally felt” day.
It’s the day, for all who are in love or who think so, it’s also for those who are not in love and for those who want to be in love, also for the “moral police” and for the self claimed guardians of “culture”, it’s a day for journalists and reporters and for all those who watch……pretty heavily populated show with huge audience base, I would say.
Also it’s also a day of saying yes, or no, to say sorry or may be just simply s-a-y….something or just about anything.
It’s not only the celebrations that come to my mind, I tend to think of those temporal portable card carts replete with pictures of just one organ and in just one color. I also think of card shops enjoying best profits, florists running out of roses, venues for a romantic dinner over-booked or just about any other innovative form of manifestation of this intriguing chemical reaction in us...... Must be a tough time for all those who aren’t eligible to buy a card or a rose or do a booking. Nonetheless I am sure there must be a classified gentry who would still do the shopping without any intention of transaction………. “sensitive-optimistic-hoarders” ……….:)
It could well be a day of miracles, or a day of second chances, or even a day for the first timers, it could as well be a day of last chances. One could be surrounded with people today, one could be all by one’s self, or it might be just two of them.
It’s a day of all those whose love is reciprocated and those whose is not requited, yet. It’s a day of confessions, asking questions and seeking answers.
Eventually, the nature of sketch lines on ones face would be determined by the amount of faith one has shown in others intelligence and comprehension, the less one has better it is, because its this faith in others ability which saves so many love stories from coming to being, bilaterally, of course. Else they are literally aborted and the pain is duly inflicted.

Check and Mate and the King.
Majestic is the word for them. They are sure fear-worthy, but such is the magic around them when one sees them still or move, one is like hypnotized or dumbstruck.
Their reputation often precedes them. Amazing presence they have, we borrow its name to depict the element of strength and royalty, we have been naming our kids or teams after them. Their name is an attitude and a lifestyle in itself.
They have expansive territories, extending up to 100 square mile, no one can dare trespass. They carry a special mark on their forehead, similar to the ones worn by kings. Actually they are the king of their lands. Following their footsteps is the closest we can get to them, of course, in all fairness.
Though they are born blind but after some time their night vision is six times better than ours and the magnificent stripes they wear is pretty remarkable, beautiful and unique too, much like finger print is to us. And they are right at the top of what probably matters or should matter most to us, arguably, The Food Chain.
Don’t we all know it starts with a Tiger….!
Tiger is an umbrella species, which means, to save the tiger we need to protect its habitat and its prey, essentially, the complete food chain. And the converse is also true……no tiger - no food chain…which essentially terminates at us. So one need not be clairvoyant to see if we put in to save tiger we are doing our bit to save ourselves……unless we are very sure about December, 2012.
So, is it like do we need a selfish motive every time…..well yes may be….!
But the Tiger is dying.
Today the situation is critical, mind you, it’s not that new facts have come into being, it’s just that a shockingly insignificant number, numerically, has been stated now, 1411. Not decades before, they were being poached at a deadly rate of one kill a day. And the most convenient truth is that, a tiger has only one predator…..MAN.
Or probably that is the fate of National "things"...in our country.
National sport---- Hockey (dying).
National flower--- Better known as a political symbol.
National fruit---- Mango (best variety exported)

Come February
It's February.
Rather than celebrating love, courtesy my ineligibility, I intend to use this month to wing different pigeons of love on to their flights of fantasy.
It’s interesting to notice that love as a verb has so many different meaning and dimensions, as in one could love one's parents, or a view , or a movie or may be some stuff: but as a noun, it has just one meaning and only one dimension....you got it.
Most of us are love struck, may be genetically.
We tend to, or may be insist to view things through the colored and thin film of love, and many a times we zoom a little too much and adjust the lens so much that we often miss the mark.
Be it concoction of situation or circumstance, the attire, even the probable (read proposed) conduct and conversation is also not spared....everything is like documented...but by natures law....most things which happen in life are not planned.
It originally begins when the silence before the sleep descends, the lights go dim, eyes are closed but one can see everything clear, all these variants working together in tandem, co-ordinate to paint the most divine picture. This is the point in time when one actually cajoles a name, just a name, into a fully fledged epic. It is noteworthy how, with each carefully woven stitch the whole design is crafted with the most vibrant hues and strokes the night is slumbered away.
And then you carry the delicate crystal, all in your eyes, and in your walk is the purpose, wanting it to happen, it’s all well only till one gets into the designed set up, and then it all falls apart, and one can’t even collect the pieces. Honestly it’s not that painful as much it appears, not because it doesn’t hurt, but simply because one gets used to it……one does it so many times…..over and over….!

Fascination with Reality.
Reality fascinates, it does.
Not long before reality shows had the major chunk of audience, until it was grotesquely over done, then followed by big screen to its grave.
What people do in real life and real time is probably the primary question to which we seek the answers…ironically though. How could we be so anxious and inquisitive about something which comes to any of us most naturally? We and people around us still get angry or happy, they do go quite or jubilant, they still fight or even cry….so what is the big deal..?
The answer probably reflects the very horrors of reality in its literal sense.
The logic is simple, what one has, generally, is not enough to fascinate one, majorly it’s about what one doesn’t has. Emotional stimulus of people is pretty much adulterated, we have acquired the skill set of projecting the appropriate emotional response under specific circumstances to an extent that we almost command them, rather it being a natural and peripheral adornment to one’s honest reaction. We are a victim of our own lies. It is like, the more one fakes it, the more one looses it.
It could probably win a few situations, but the damage one does to one’s self is beyond repair. Because if it is natural, it will come anyway, but when one starts ensuring one’s convenience it could happen that one is bereft when one needs it most, and the worst part is that one wouldn’t even realize the miss, as a quick alternative would be around.
Don’t know for how long it has been in use, don’t know for how long it will be used, but one thing is for sure the more one uses it more used to it one becomes. It ruins so many relationships, so many lives, so many dreams, so many expectations….but the practice goes on……a wonderful working solution…somebody said.

People and Peace
Privatizing Peace.
The enemy has changed, it’s no more a customary or defined by regular attributes such as flags and uniforms and neither is it affected by sovereignty or borders.
Enemy today is devoid of any such status symbols. The yard-stick for gauging power is no more indigenous resources but technology and science.
And so the definition of peace has changed and, it is no more an instance or an objective, it has become an obligation and a process that needs to sustained and maintained round the clock.
Not disregarding the blistering issues and events that still haunt the nation more often than frequently, what is remarkable is that the “unfortunate event” that disrupts peace is not the focal point but its expectancy and its aftermath is what claims the major chunk of attention and analysis, not to mention the subsequent weaving of it to rather weird aspects, often devoid of any sense or logic, much to the irritation and disheartening of a sane common man.
Peace, hence, and has grown beyond the scope of state machinery and percolates well into culture, religion, industry and simultaneously enables the smooth flow of people, and their thoughts without any hassle or qualm.
One might just wonder that while we are bearing the sweet fruit of privatization we experimented with earlier, why would one not think of privatizing peace as well, so there again we have an industry where it’s the people who deliver and it’s the people who receive.
Our existence in synchronization with globalization today would require the defeat of all such elements which ever led to any differences of any sort.
And knowledge is the right answer to it. Knowledge is today’s weapon and shield, and it’s the duty of everyone to share it as much as possible, democratization of knowledge is imperative. In fact the essence of democracy lies in the inference that it’s a collation of all possible, probable and different interpretations over a uniform understanding. To be different is as much democracy as much it is to be similar.
Such an ecosystem can be established if and only if in our ethnic, religious and historic differences we are successful in introducing benevolence and patience, so that movement is not only among the individuals but also between communities and nations.
